More kittens???
Last night I’m hanging out at home and there’s a knock at the door. It’s Casey from down the street. She also takes care of the neighborhood cat colony. Apparently one of our neighbors, Junebug, caught someone dumping a pillowcase full of kittens in our neighborhood. Hey, that explains a lot, doesn’t it? Anyway, he took the kittens, stuck them in his car and told Casey about them. Casey has someone staying at her house who can’t deal with the kittens, hence the knock on my door.
We went to have a look at them. Three of them and they look to be 3-4 weeks old. They aren’t feral at all. They don’t seem to be scared of people and a little rub gets their purr started right up. They all have goobery eyes, but that’s fairly typical for kittens. Mine had that problem too. So, I went home, grabbed a carrier, and brought them home and set them up in my bathroom. They’re eating fine and although I put some soft food for them down at first they really seem to prefer crunchies. I haven’t had luck getting them to use litter yet. Hey, I needed to wash the bathmats anyway. It looks like there are two boys and a girl. The grey tabbies are one of each and the brown tabby is a boy. All of them have white socks. Casey is going to take them back to her house, but if anyone is wanting cute little kittens, I know where you can get some.

Animal compression
As the weather gets colder, the animals pull closer and closer together, reverse big bang style. As I type this, Tak is shoved between me and the back of the couch, under a blanket. Possum is kind of on my lap in the crook of my leg. And Grover is behind me on the outside of the blanket on top of Tak. Girl kitty is not a lap kitty and is perched in a little ball on top of the back of the loveseat. I’ve seen her snuggling with Grover and I bet almost anything she’ll snuggle with Tak before she becomes lapcat. I’m happy to report that outdoor kitties have been using their dogloo, at least when it rains. I went out to feed them during a rain break once this week, and one came sauntering out of there.
