Possum #3
Yeah, so that’s not Stumpy and it’s not Kitty. Apparently I now have three possums coming by to eat cat food. This one is pretty young and his face has a lot less grey on it. It’s still very sharp though! Pointy pointy! So now I’m a possum magnet I suppose…
New falafel in town
Yeah, it’s another half eaten plate of food. Sue me. Last weekend we had lunch at Alibaba’s Turkish & Mediterranean Delights on Euclid. This is what’s left of a falafel pita and babaganush. So yummy! They can make the falafel vegan no problem just by using tahini sauce instead of yogurt. They stuff a nice salad mix, tabouli, and hummus inside with the falafel. Oh, and hot sauce if you want it. The babaganush had a nice smokey flavor with pickles in it. The hummus was lemony and tasted like it was light on tahini or maybe had none. Anyway, really tasty, nice people, would eat again! Wow, it’s kind of hard to get all passionate about something you ate a week ago.
Brunch at Saba
Yay! Another place to get a yummy vegan brunch! Kevin and I checked out Saba‘s brunch Sunday. They have a bunch of vegan options and BONUS they serve brunch until 3pm. It was the first time I’d had their brunch, so we got the Tofu Scramble plate and the Vegan French Toast and shared. The tofu came with lots of broccoli and bell peppers, the potatoes were seasoned with rosemary and the soysage patties were like Lightlife patties but a bit bigger around and much crispier. Oh and the biscuit was so good it didn’t need anything on it. The French Toast was wonderful…made from ciabatta bread I think, all full of holes that held the syrup like a sponge. Yum, yum, yum. And sorry there are clearly bites already gone from the food. At least I remembered to take a pic while it was still mostly whole. Oh yeah, this restaurant also serves meaty dishes so it’s great for mixed veg/non-veg company.
Atlanta Snow 2008, Part 2
Sometimes the sequel IS better than the original. I think that’s going to be the case with our second snow incident this year in Atlanta. It’s been cranking for about an hour and a half or so and doesn’t seem to be stopping. I’d love it if it were to snow enough to actually cover the grass. I’ve yet to see that since I’ve lived here. It did apparently snow pretty good one year, but I think I was in Copenhagen looking at bigger and better snow. Tak doesn’t seem all that excited about it, but at least she’ll go out in it unlike rain.
